Card Spotlight: Buzzing Wind

In this article, I’ll be putting the spotlight on the Bug card, “Buzzing Wind.”

As of January 2022, this card has 10 base damage, provides 30 shields, and does not cost energy. It also inflicts the Fragile debuff on the target until the next round, which makes their shields take more damage.

How Is Buzzing Wind Used?

This card is mainly used for offense and utility. It’s used against Axies that have lots of shields and turn their defenses into butter.

It’s especially useful against Dusks, Plants, and Reptiles, because of their natural disadvantage against Bugs, but its primary use is to counter high-shield teams.

What Kind of Axies/Teams Use Buzzing Wind?

Most of the Axies that use this card are damage/utility Bugs. Buzzing Wind is an amazing counter to teams that have a lot of shields.

Inflicting Fragile on enemy Axies will force them to take more damage to their shields, which makes them easier to take down.

Team compositions with Double Plants/Reptiles will most likely have a harder time, especially because they rely on their defenses.

Pros and Cons of the Buzzing Wind Card

Pros

Does not cost energy
Provides decent shields
Inflicts the debuff Fragile that can render the target’s shields weak

Cons

Deals low damage
Isn’t effective against teams that have little to no shields

Buzzing Wind Card Synergies

Grub Surprise
Grub Surprise’s effect synergizes well with Buzzing Wind; it deals more damage to the target’s shields while simultaneously inflicting Fear
