Note: I am not an expert on the game’s economy. There are a lot of factors that affect it and I may have missed a few. So I’m only writing this for people who are skeptical but interested in Axie Infinity.

Although the SLP (Smooth Love Potion) price was higher around June-July 2021, it still has a decent value. You can earn up to $10-$20 (maybe even higher) daily, even if you’re a scholar!

It all comes down to your technique, Axies, and in-game strategy. Remember! The higher your MMR is, the more SLP you get!

Axie Infinity Is Constantly Evolving

The game has so much room for innovation. With more updates on the horizon, Axie Infinity has a bright future.

Sky Mavis (the developer of Axie Infinity) publicly posted their development roadmap and completed milestones. Players can anticipate more in-game mechanics that will benefit the game’s economy and overall gameplay.

Sky Mavis Has Been a Good Steward of Axie Infinity’s Economy

Due to the recent influx of players, a lot of SLP tokens were created. This led to a drop in its market value, falling from $0.26 (July) to $0.16 (September).

Season 18’s arrival came with updates intended to balance the economy by capping the daily SLP income of players in adventure and the daily quest. While it may be a band-aid solution, it may keep the economy stable until Sky Mavis introduces new mechanics to burn SLP.

Players Can Keep the Game Going

In Axie Infinity subreddits, you could find players arguing about the game’s current economy. It’s pretty normal to have these kinds of opinionated discussions because no one knows what the outcome will be.

Despite all that, investors and players are still glued to the game’s intricate business model. Everyone has their reasons for trusting Sky Mavis and because of the numerous supporters, the game probably won’t be shutting down anytime soon.

Scholarships: What Do You Have to Lose?

Scholars make up most of Axie Infinity’s population. Being a scholar means that you can invest in the game with nothing but time and effort, yet still receive some form of income.

Even if the economy comes crashing down, you’ll only lose the time you invested in the game (if you didn’t cash out the SLP you earned while playing). 

Fortunately, economies don’t usually suddenly crash, so you may have time to recover your assets before their value drops. 

That’s how flexible being an Axie Infinity scholar is. The manager/investor shoulders most of the risk if the economy ever collapses.

Axie Infinity’s Cons

Scammers/Hackers are EVERYWHERE

Vigilant protection of your wallet, seed phrase, and assets is always a top priority. 

Keep in mind that Sky Mavis is not responsible for your private keys/information, so you should be wise enough to hide them in a safe and secure place.

If a player is scammed or hacked, Sky Mavis can only suspend the reported culprit. The stolen asset will not be returned because keeping your wallet secure isn’t Sky Mavis’ responsibility.

In other words, all the normal pitfalls of cryptocurrency generally are present in Axie Infinity.

SLP Volatility

The game is based on cryptocurrency and ALL crypto markets are volatile. It can rise and fall in ways that you wouldn’t expect.

Plan for this volatility if you plan to stay for a long time in Axie Infinity. Make sure you can pull your assets out at any time. 

To visualize volatility better, let’s place it in a scenario between breeders and players.

If the price of SLP rises:

• Breeders will pay expensive costs for breeding Axies
• Players will profit more since their earnings can be sold for a higher price
  

If the price of SLP drops: 

• Players will have a lower income 
• Breeders can breed Axies at a cheaper cost, allowing them to sell more Axies

Ultimately, SLP volatility can hit anyone in the community. It may be beneficial for some, but unfavorable for others.

Avoid the Ban Hammer

Sky Mavis terminates any account that violates their terms of use. The infamous “multi-accounting” scheme is an example of what every player should NOT do.

The production of SLP can be doubled by just playing two different accounts. Sky Mavis prohibits multi-accounting because of the unfair advantage it has in earning SLP.

Unfortunately, players can mistakenly get banned for multi-accounting or other issues. Everyone should take precautionary measures when it comes to switching accounts because getting banned will forfeit all of your assets.
