In this article, I’ll be putting the spotlight on the Bug card, “Grub Explode.”

As of January 2022, this card has 70 base damage, does not provide shields, and does not cost energy. It also deals double damage if used by an Axie that is in Last Stand.

How Is Grub Explode Used?

This card is mainly used for offense. It’s used to deal additional damage in-between combos for free.

It’s especially useful against Dusks, Plants, and Reptiles, because of their natural disadvantage against Bugs, but its primary use is to supplement damage. It could even be used as a filler card to remove debuffs or activate effects

However, it’s pretty hard to use, especially because getting into Last Stand is pretty hard. Grub Explode also ends it because of its effect.

What Kind of Axies/Teams Use Grub Explode?

Most of the Axies that use this card are damage Bugs. Grub Explode is a good secondary tail card because of its effect.

Although it’s pretty rare to be seen in the meta nowadays, it could still be of use, especially if you need more damage at no cost.
