In this article, I’ll be putting the spotlight on the Beast card, “Branch Charge.”

As of November 2021, this card has 125 base damage, 25 shields, and costs 1 energy. It gains an increased chance of critically striking by 20% if it’s chained or comboed with a Plant card.

How Is Branch Charge Used?

This card is used mainly to burst down tankier Axies. Because it’s a Beast card, it deals additional damage against the tank classes, Plant, Reptile, and Dusk.

It’s also useful against Terminator Reptiles because of its high damage and crit chance when paired with a Plant card.

What Kind of Axies/Teams Use Branch Charge?

Most of the Axies that use this card are damage-dealer Beast Axies. I’ve also seen a few builds that put it on Aqua Axies to supplement their lack of damage against the tanks.

Using a Plant as a tank also enables players to make use of the additional crit chance more effectively.

Pros and Cons of the Branch Charge Card

Pros

deals decent damage and gives good shields
gains additional crit chances when comboed/chained with a Plant card

Cons

deals relatively low damage when compared to other Beast cards (Sinister Strike)

Branch Charge Card Synergies

Revenge Arrow, Single Combat, Nitro Leap, Nut Throw/Crack, Hare Dagger
high-damage Beast cards paired with Branch Charge create a Beast Axie that deals insane amounts of damage

Death Mark
if the user can proc the effect of Death Mark with Branch Charge, they could burst enemy Axies down with the critical strike

Tail Slap
Tail Slap works great with Branch Charge in order to create a utility Axie that also deals tons of damage against tanks

Fish Hook
Attack+ paired with Branch Charge could potentially deal tons of damage when used against Dusks, Plants, and Reptiles
