In this article, I’ll be putting the spotlight on the Bird card, “Balloon Pop.”
As of December 2021, this card has 40 base damage, does not provide shields, and costs no energy. It also inflicts Fear to the target for 1 turn but self-inflicts if used defensively (attacked by an Axie faster than the one that used Balloon Pop).

How Is Balloon Pop Used?
This card is used mainly to prevent the enemy from landing an attack. It could also be used to poke enemies because it’s a zero-cost card.
It’s especially useful against Beasts, Mechs, and Bugs because of their natural disadvantage against Birds. It’s also great against utility Axies because you can force them to miss, preventing the enemy from making use of their abilities.
Beware! If you use Balloon Pop against an Axie faster than yours, then ALL of your attacks will miss. Keep in mind that Balloon Pop should be used by the fastest Axie in the team.
What Kind of Axies/Teams Use Balloon Pop?
Most of the Axies that use this card are damage-dealer Bird Axies. There are also certain Axies that make use of Balloon pop like the hybrid Aqua and other weird, but effective card combinations.
It is important that Axies that use this card are fast, because it’s a double-edged sword. If they don’t attack first and they use Balloon Pop, there’s a high chance that they’ll miss their combo.
