Virtual Heroes Inc. announced that they will now be utilizing the Unreal3 engine. VHI (a advanced learning technology company) makes simulation games for the real world. Working with Federal systems, Healthcare and commercial training markets to make applications and serious games for learning. They say the use of this engine will help them create the most real looking people to date. You guys mite remember VH’s previous works with the old unreal engine in “Americas Army” our own USArmy’s tact ops style FPS game. Its great to see how diverse gaming tech is getting and how it has been evolving into more platforms.

While Lg does not have an arcade section due to well the fact that in most the world the arcades are dry dull places any more. Japan how ever still has a big market in arcade games. Initial D the popular anime series gets a spot lite on some ones arcade floor with 3 real cars from the series to be able to hop in and play the Initial D arcade game. Cost 600yen (around 5 bucks) and lets you get in the drivers seat and hit some good downhill drifting action in a real car! Why do the Japanese get all the fun toys! Source

Well it seems WiiNintendo got a tip from a EB list of games that are compatible with the new Wii Zapper. Duck Hunt is #1 at the top of the list. The report goes on to speculate a Oct. release date which would not surprise for this LG’er, being the first Duck Hunt for the NES was released Oct. 15 1985. What would really put the icen on the cake is if it was packaged with the Wii Zapper. Reggie at the e3 Nintendo press conference did state that the zapper would come with a game at retail price of $19.95. If nothing else maybe there will be a package like the old super mario bro’s/duck hunt in one game. All is speculation at this point though so LG earns it self a rumor category. Source

Microsoft has announced that its HD-DVD drive for the xbox 360 will receive a price cut August 1st. Now it will only cost you $179.99 to enjoy HD DVD’s on your 360. Boasting that with this price cut it makes the xbox 360 console one the cheapest ways to enjoy high quality movies on your TV. While it seems they are pushing HD movies they are still saying that no games will be released in HD-DVDs why who knows maybe cost of production just is not worth it right now. Although with the battle for the next gen console and movie format you would think they would have tried to make it even cheaper but hey cant complain about saving 20$ right?

World of Warcraft has hold of over 9 mill. users world wide now. The mmorpg that found right timing and marketing to get a strong user base now it seems even grandma plays it. While LG is not a big supporter of this Blizzard game it is however impressive to have this many members in any online game or community. Is there any good mmo’s coming out you think can take away from WoW’s evil hold on this world or will it end up like Everquest did? Launching in 2004 with a few expansions since then has seem to keep players strapped to their pc’s night after night. While I am still shocked that more “hardcore” gamers are not turning to Korean made mmo’s for pvp and a real challenge.

We got a nice tease from Reggie in the Nintendo press conference last week about 32 player multi. Now the official announcement has been made. Heroes 2 will come to the Wii with some cool stuff like a on-rail flash style extra for use with the Wii zapper as well as a 32 player online mode. Thats right ladies you wanted to test your skills with the wiimote against other players not just your little sister, bring it is all I have to say. Expect LG to host some kinda tournament close to its release. The time to Wii is now! It sounds like we may see this game some time in the Fall or early Winter.
