Well, ladies and gentlemen; after much time getting my life priorities in order, I am now back and better than ever to the site.
I’m ready for a great 2008 in gaming, and to post regular news, reviews, and even a few rants from the twisted mind of me.
Look forward to reviews of No More Heroes, and Endless Ocean here in the coming weeks, as well as a plethora of news stories.
Here’s hoping that I can make good of my word here and not become a lazy bastard, like i’m notorious for being.

Gamepress sent us some great screen shots of the new Devil May Cry 4 today. It will be so nice to have this game on ps3, xbox360, and even the PC. While most of this game is normally real dark these show a bright texture package and some killer sprites. Check out more screen shots below.

I’ll be the first to tell you that this week has been a sad one for the game journalism industry.
In case you hadn’t heard; Jeff Gerstman from Gamespot.com was apparently fired this week for his review of Kane & Lynch for XBox 360, which was heavily advertised on their site. I won’t link the review, but he gave it a 6.0. The rumor is that Eidos was so upset over the review, that they threatened to pull all advertising off of the site, to which Gamespot responded by firing their longest standing editor.
None of this has been confirmed, nor denied, but based on reports all over the web; this seems to be the most accurate description we’ll ever get as to what truly happened.

“Nintendoof America has set a new sales record by selling more products during the Thanksgiving week than at any other time in the company’s history. During the period November 18 to November 24, over 653,000 DS units were sold, smashing the previous record of 600,000 Game Boy Advance consoles sold in 2005.”
Gobble gobble! The DS takes its rung as #1 in yet another record book. This comes as no surprise with the DSlite so sleek and sexy at only 150$’s who wouldnt want one! Not only that it appeals to all ages. Not only the DS but the Wii sold over 650,000 units in the past two weeks.

You mite have heard about Belkin’s gamepad called the Nostromo. The first model n50 was released some time ‘01 and since has evolved into the n52 with more keys and better software. Now they bring you the true “gamer” pad powered by Razor. The n52te is sleeker and improved, with one of its best features being onboard memory to now store your game profiles for a true plug and play experience. Not only that the dpad looks to be improved as well as the rest of the keys. This or any model of the nostromo is a must have for any “hardcore” or “pro” gamer. You will forget you had a keyboard if you give one a chance. Look for Belkin’s Nostromo n52te to hit stores some time in Dec.

Today is one of the greatest days in PC gaming history.. ok for about 4,000 people in the Unreal community it is. This is the game bringing Unreal back to the UT. While the game is being released with a good amount of UI bugs its still a must pick for any FPS fan. UT99 was the only competitor to Quakes legacy back in the day and now carries the “genre” into ‘08 with UT3. Not your every day slow shooter this is real FPS action in your face rockets and fast action. Not only are the die hard Unreal fans into this game so are people in the industry.

Looks like Call of Duty 4 has beat out Gears of War for #2 rung of MajorNelsons top 10 most played xbox live games . This comes as no surprise since they finally broke the mold of WWII games in the series. This will spark sales and play for any gamer. Great graphics and game play make this an easy choice as well. While it may be hot this month wait to see if it can out hold that rung for as long as GoW did.

It seems with lots of reports from gamers that GH3 for the Wii only supports Mono stereo. While they advertise on the box as Dolby Pro Logic II. After a week of “We are looking into it” Activision has begone to pull Guitar Hero from the stores. They have not given a time line as to when all this will get done, but have stated it will be stocked back in all major stores before xmas.

Yes I know many xbox fans are going to cry tonight. Mark Rein had an interview with ProG where he said “he’s really proud of the ps3 version”. The game has been slowed down 20% from the PC version and Rein says “it feels just right to be playing it with a controller“.
He said: “People are going to be pleasantly surprised. It’s a really high end experience that pushes the graphics bar up even higher than Gears of War. There’s more polygons, there’s more stuff going on, there’s more explosions and there’s more things happening, so we’re just really pleased with the way the game runs on the PS3.”
Sounds like Epics earnings this quarter are going to kill.
